Games I Demand: Seaman 2

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

News broke that a Seaman spin-off game might possibly make it’s way onto iPhones in the U.S. Personally, I hail any kind of Seaman news as good news, but it’s still not enough. I demand a Seaman sequel, maybe call it something like, “Seaman 2: More Seaman in Your Face” or “Seaman 2: Seaman Unleashed” to appeal to the younger crowd who enjoy things being extreme and unleashed.

Video Game Stars As Balloons

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

I really wish I could be playing games right now, but my wife has taken over the television/gaming central because it is the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Granted I like the balloons, but there’s way too much singing for me to watch it. So here I sit on Thanksgiving typing on my computer while she hogs up the TV. All is not a loss however, here’s a few game related balloons to save us all a whole lot of time:

Pikachu was the big break out star from the Pokemon series and for good reason, he’s adorable. It’s no wonder that he’s one of the few gaming icons to make it into balloon form.

Resistance 2: First Impressions

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

I don’t get that many games too often, but I have a source of PS3 games that occasionally makes games available for super cheap. I’m not bragging, I’m just explaining how I can end up with copy of Resistance 2 for the PS3 when I wasn’t overly impressed by the first game and really wasn’t looking forward to the second. Don’t get me wrong I wanted to play it, but it really was a back burner type of need.

Pinballing it up in Pinball Town

Monday, November 24th, 2008

This last weekend I finally broke down and purchased the XBox Live game Pinball FX. The combination of not enough sleep and the love of pinball caused me to purchase the downloadable title. I also picked up the Rocky and Bullwinkle and Street Fighter II Turbo tables at the same time.

Left 4 Dead Meets Dawn of the Dead

Sunday, November 23rd, 2008

For those of you lucky enough to own a copy of Left 4 Dead and are happily killing zombies left and right, prepare to put your happy hats on. There will be an add on for the game that will let you play in the Crosstowns mall from Dawn of the Dead. Here’s a trailer for the map:

Of course, this is just a mod so if you’re a PC owner of Left 4 Dead you’ll get to have fun in the mall sometime around Christmas. If your a console owner, I guess all you can do is to pray that some sort of deal is struck to make this as a DLC item. I’m sure that Valve likes money, so maybe that isn’t too crazy of a scenario.

Batman Arkham Asylum Trailer

Sunday, November 23rd, 2008

The trailer for the upcoming Batman game, Batman Arkham Asylum has been released and… well it’s pretty underwhelming. Granted, this is just a short teaser, but it would have been nice to see a single frame of any of the bad guys or the big Bats himself. I would have liked to have seen something in the way of any of the characters or some fast action shots or something. It’s kind of hard to get excited over a bunch of empty rooms. Sure they set the mood, but it’s hard to get really pumped for a game that feels empty.

There’s also no word on if the game will actually be good or not. It is a Batman game after all and the hit to miss ratio is almost as bad as the Army Men series of games. Jeez, anyone remember when those things were coming out every other day?

Gears of War 2 Rules

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008

After having Gears of War 2 for several days I’ve come to the conclusion that it rules. What I liked about the first game is what I like about the sequel, it’s like the biggest, dumbest, most over the top sci-fi action flick never put to film. It’s got big explosions, retarded dialog, and enough killing to keep you entertained. Seriously, think of any of the classic Schwarzenegger films and amp it up several times and you have Gears of War 2.

Nickelback and Guitar Hero

Friday, November 21st, 2008

Nickelback guy Chad Kroeger was recently complaining about the lack of good rock bands around and seemed to put some blame on Guitar Hero, “…So kids: Start rock bands. Set down the ‘Guitar Hero,’ learn how to play an actual guitar and start a band, because it’s hard to find more bands to put a solid rock-and-roll package together…” Yeah, Chad Kroeger is complaining about the lack of good rock bands. This is irony in it’s purest form.

Thanks for Fruiting Up My XBox, Microsoft

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

So I, like many millions of 360 owners, had the opportunity to download the new XBox Live interface yesterday. As I’d feared, I guess I don’t mind the new interface, but I really don’t like the Avatar. The the fake Mii’s directly lifted from Nintendo add nothing to the “experience” of owning an XBox 360.

What Are You Looking Forward to this Holiday Season?

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

For all those going to heaven to live in eternal bliss, Christmas is coming up fairly soon (if the decorations all over Wal-Mart are any indication). Christmas is the gift giving day of the year and even the sinful heathens out there will participate so as not to be left out. With this in mind, I ask what are you hoping to get video game wise this Christmas? Are you asking for a new console? Portable system? What games do you want?

PETA is Retarded

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

I guess this isn’t really news. I mean, PETA means well and all, but they really are retarded. In their newest move that makes them look stupid, the animal rights group has created a Flash based game that is based on the game Cooking Mama. In “Cooking Mama Kills Animals” the star of the game shows where you meals REALLY come from: DEAD ANIMALS.

Why Do You Want Blu-Ray to Fail?

Monday, November 17th, 2008

It seems like there’s a good chunk of the populace that wants the Blu-Ray movie format to fail, specifically many of those wishing it’s demise are gamers. Why? As a PS3 owner who has a HDTV, Blu-Ray is the greatest thing since the advent of DVDs. The picture quality is worth the plunge into Blu-Ray and I can’t understand the hatred directed towards the format. I’ve compiled five arguments against Blu-Ray and have my answers to them.
