Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Announced

The Call of Duty series is notorious for being set in World War II, but Activision announced today that they are FINALLY bringing Call of Duty to the modern age. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will be developed by the team who brought you the original Call of Duty & Call of Duty 2, Infinity Ward.

The only other bit of information given from Activision is to expect a “world-premier” video to show during the NFL Draft on ESPN at 10am PST/ 1pm EST. Good luck getting me to watch that crap though. Never been a huge fan of football and I’m not going to sit through the draft non-the-less in order to catch a glimpse at the trailer. I’ll just sit back and wait for it to hit YouTube, like any other respectable journalist would do.

CoD was the last bastion of the WW2 FPS genre. I’m sure we are all sick of killing Nazi’s at this point. Here’s to a new era.

I never got tired of killing Nazis, but there’s really not much the Call of Duty series can do now. So I embrace this change and hope it does well.
