Call of Duty Five: A Return to Who Cares

by Paul

It looks like all the terrible rumors are true. The Call of Duty series is going back to the World War II setting. Not much else is known about the game except that it will take place in the Pacific, so get ready for lots of claims of racism. Remember kids, it’s okay to kill lots of white people, it’s never okay to kill lots of people of another race.

Why they feel the need to bring the Call of Duty series back to it’s roots after the enormous success of Call of Duty 4 in a modern setting is beyond me. One would think that you’d want to give the public more of what they really, really enjoyed instead of going back and retreading very old ground. There is some good news, however. Some of the details emerging from the game seem fairly interesting, like the fact that you can set fires with a flamethrower that will burn down buildings and foliage. It also supposedly melts the skin off of your enemies. Exciting!

And yes, the poster above is horribly racist. They kind of made them that way in the ’40s.

What a load of crap! COD4 is such a great game, but there are improvements and upgrades they could have made. Why would you go back to WWII? Is there a shortage of WWII games? I am never buying a video game again.
