Rock Band DLC Update: Week of 5-26-08

by Paul

After missing a week (sorry folks) your regular Rock Band DLC update is here! Last week saw a few new songs added along with nine tracks that were available in Europe. This week, if you like the Cars then you’ll be in for a treat, because there’s a whole Cars album available for purchase. If you don’t, well I guess it’s another week of not purchasing any new Rock Band songs. The Cars self titled album contains nine songs. The album can be purchased for $14.99 (1200 Microsoft pretend points), or $1.99 (160 Microsoft pretend points) per track.

They are:

* “Good Times Roll”

* “My Best Friend’s Girl”

* “Just What I Needed”

* “I’m in Touch with Your World”

* “Don’t Cha Stop”

* “You’re All I’ve Got Tonight”

* “Bye Bye Love”

* “Moving in Stereo”

* “All Mixed Up”

Thoughts and videos after the break!

Good Times Roll

This is one of those songs that I’ve always heard in the background, but never really had any feeling one way or the other. This live video is certainly… interesting. I’m glad that they didn’t go with the synth noise found in this on their album.

My Best Friend’s Girl

Perhaps one of the Cars best known songs. Not to be confused with “I Wish That I Had Jessie’s Girl”, this song is in the pantheon of songs that have the singer lusting for a chick that his friend is banging. Kind of gross when you put it that way, hey? Anyway, this is one of the best songs on the album and it will be hard not to purchase it.

Just What I Needed

Now this is the song that is a must have purchase for me.

I’m in Touch with Your World

No wonder this song has faded into obscurity.

Don’t Cha Stop

Not too bad of a classic sounding rock tune with the Cars signature sound.

You’re All I’ve Got Tonight

Want hard driving drums with a video full of hot chicks? Here you go.

Bye Bye Love

Not much to say about this song except that I can’t get over how dorky their synth player is.

Moving in Stereo

I’ve come to the conclusion that songs by the blonde guy are not that good on average.

All Mixed Up

God, what a stupid fan video.
