Nintendo has no plans for a Kirby game on the Wii. Hooray!

by JW

In a bit of news that warms my heart, it appears that Nintendo has absolutely no desire to bring a Kirby game to the Nintendo Wii. In the “Ask Nintendo” section of the UK Official Nintendo Magazine, a reader asked if Nintendo was working on a Kirby game for the Wii. The magazine’s response?

There are no plans right now for a Kirby game on Wii but there are plenty of Kirby fans out there, so in the meantime look out for Kirby in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Brawl which will be released in 2008.

…this makes me so happy. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not because I have something against Nintendo or the Wii. Oh, no. It’s because I consider Kirby to be the most worthless mascot in the industry. More so than Bubsy. At least his 2D games were kind of fun… in the same sense that a root canal is “kind of fun”, but still.
