Video: Wii-mote Direct Hit

Saturday, December 30th, 2006

slip.jpg

User kylebane was allowing his mother and uncle to play with his Wii, when another Wii related injury occured. What occurs in this video shows that people need to take the Wii-mote strap more serious, it doesn’t matter if they’re just trying out the Wii to see what it’s all about. If you have a Wii-mote in your hand, you HAVE TO wear the strap. I can’t stress it enough people…wear your damn straps and make sure your family members are wearing them as well!

Fan Made Legend Of Zelda Movie

Saturday, December 30th, 2006

thelegendmovie.jpg

The Legend of Zelda: The Hero of Time is an upcoming fan made movie starring David Blane as Link, Hannah Freeman as Zelda, and Adam Boyer as Ganon. From what the trailer shows, it actually looks pretty good. The acting and CGI look alot better than some of the made for TV crap they show on the Sci-Fi network.

Here’s the synopsis of the film straight from their website:

The movie’s story is roughly based off that of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Link, who has been raised by the Kokiri, is sent to Hyrule City by the Great Deku Tree. Once there, he meets Princess Zelda who tells him what the Triforce symbol on his hand means and exactly who he is,

Meanwhile, Ganon has arranged a banquet for the king, but this gesture, seemingly in good faith, is just a part of his evil scheme. At the banquet, the king is poisoned, and Ganon overthrows the kingdom. Link flees to the Temple of Time and takes the Master Sword, but is shocked when he finds he has suddenly traveled into the future. Link discovers that it is a bleak future, for Ganon has destroyed the land, and so he sets out to find Zelda. Along the way he meets Sheik, and learns that he will need the help of the sages to defeat Ganon. After he defeats demons that are guarding the sages, Link returns to Hyrule where he confronts donzens of Gerudo warriors and ultimately fights Ganon.

Hmm…sounds like a pretty interesting story. The movie itself is actually done, and was slated for a Fall 2006 release, but the creators need just a little more time to finish up the CGI and then this little gem will be available for your viewing pleasure.

Check out the trailer after the break, you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Resident Evil 4 Ashley “Panty Shot”

Friday, December 29th, 2006

re4ashley.jpg

Osaruzx is a…well…let’s say a special person. He actually created a video that is a 49 second long upskirt panty-shot of Ashley from Resident Evil 4. For those of you who haven’t played Resident Evil 4, Ashley is the President’s daughter who Leon was sent to Europe to rescue. We’re not really told in the game how old she was, but from my understanding, I think she was under 18 so that makes this video that much more creepy (or sexy depending who you are)

There really are no words to describe this video…it’s…it’s really retarded.

HD-DVD Possibly Cracked

Friday, December 29th, 2006

hddvdcrack.jpg

It seems that nothing is “unbreakable”. Take HD-DVDs. They and Blu-Ray discs are using AACS Copy Protection and was deemed “unbreakable”. Well, a fella by the name of muslix64 has found a way to go around that copy protection.

Here’s a direct quote from the more info section of the YouTube video:

I was not aware of anyone having done that, so I did.
Have a look.
The AACS copy protection system is realy Unbreakable!
The program is a simple implementation of the aacs crypto protocol freely available on the net. No reverse engineering!
Stay tuned for source code soon!
Merry Christmas everyone!

In the more info section he even went as far as to supply a rapidshare URL to download the source code file named “BackupHDDVD.zip” which weighs in at 17KB. Download it at your own risk though if you decide to experiment.

Amazon To Have Wii’s In-Stock This Morning

Wii

If you are one of the unlucky people who haven’t been able to get a Wii since you saw Al Roker playing it on “Today”, then here’s a chance for you to finally get your hands on a Nintendo Wii.

Here’s an excerpt directly from Amazon.com’s Wii description page:

Wii Available for Purchase 12/29: The Nintendo Wii will again be available for purchase on Amazon.com on 12/29, Friday morning, at some point between 7am and 11am PST. We will be limiting purchases to one per household. We anticipate that we will sell through our inventory very quickly as demand for this product continues to be very high. At this time, we do not have any information on future Nintendo Wii offers, but we will post updates on future availability on this page.

For those of you on the east coast, that’s sometime between 10am - 2pm EST. As of this writing, there are Wiis available, but they’re going for $500+. If that’s what Amazon was referring to as “in-stock”, then I highly recommend you not buy from Amazon because the Nintendo Wii retails for $250. Just wait a little longer until it’s available at your local retailer. The Nintendo Wii is totally worth the $250 price tag…but not $500+.

I’ll be continually checking up on Amazon to see if they’ll be selling it at a more decent price and straight from Amazon, and not from “WorldWide Distributors”.

Video: Saint’s Row “Buggy” Musical

Friday, December 29th, 2006

saintsrow.jpg

Saint’s Row has taken the free-roaming hoodlum genre and 1uped it with high-def graphics, an FPS style of handling (instead of GTA’s “lock-on”), and memorable moments like helping a soccer mom sell drugs. But, that doesn’t mean this game isn’t buggy…really buggy. So much though that a fella by the name of cabel decided to record said bugs and make a little musical out of it. Here’s an excerpt from cabel’s blog,

Saints Row does, to its credit, have better graphics, a pretty good script, an amusing character creator, and better targeting (for better shooting people in the face).

It also has some bugs. The world’s most awesome bugs.

So many bugs that I would keep my digital camera on hand while I played the game. And every time I came across a bug — and I came across a whole lot of them — I’d take a short video.

For a long time now, I’ve wanted to share these bug videos with you, but I wasn’t convinced they were quite funny enough. They needed a hot comedy injection, a little something to tie it all together. And then it hit me: musical theatre. What better compliment to the rough and tumble world of Saints Row? (Mind you, I’m no professional musicarian, and, as noted previously, there’s nothing more painful than hearing your own voice, especially when it appears to be singing.)

As a musician/gamer, I can honestly say that even though cable states he isn’t a profesional “musicarian”, he does a great job with the music.

Enjoy the video after the jump.

Worms Coming to XBLA Next Month + Screenshots

Friday, December 29th, 2006

worms.jpg

It looks like a Worms game is near completion and is planned to be released next month on Xbox Live Arcade. The exact time of release is unknown, but we do know that it will be sometime after CES, which ends January 11.

Worms has been a franchise that has withstood the test of time and has had numerous spin-offs, the most successful being GunBound. Developer Team17 states this version will be easier to pick up and play than previous versions.

Also, in another related story, xbox-attitude has scored some exclusive screen shots of Worms HD and they look purdy. I can’t wait for this title to come out.

To check out the screenshots, just follow your nose.

Killer Instinct Game Coming Sooner Than Later?

Thursday, December 28th, 2006

killer_instinct_artwork.jpg

According to the latest edition of UK gaming magazine “Games TM”, it seems that Rare might be working on Killer Instinct for the Xbox 360. This would help developer Rare out immensely since they’ve had a pretty lackluster showing on the Xbox 360 with Kameo, Perfect Dark Zero, and Viva Pinata.

1PStart has written a letter to Rare about this article and will await their response. If we get any updates, we’ll make sure to update you guys.

See you all on line tomorrow morning to pre-order this sucker, because the hype for this game is not going to go from “pretty cool idea, i’ll buy it when it comes out” to “you’d be crazy not to preorder it

Wednesday, December 27th, 2006

shot_mg_49.JPG

Today will be a day that all gamers will remember. Sony has released Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection to the PlayStation Store in Japan and weighs in at a whopping 830mb and costs ¥2000; $16.85. The download features full HD support, arcade battle, ghost battle, and offline versus modes as well as artwork and a video gallery.

Sony has been an avid believer in digital downloads, and today marks the day when they put all their chips on the table and show how big digital downloading can become. Now the next step would be to release hard drives with higher capactiy for a very low cost. If you think you need to update your 20GB/60GB hard drive in your PS3, I got the article just for you.

Angry Video Game Nerd’s Christmas Special

Wednesday, December 27th, 2006

angrynerd.jpg

The Angry Video Game Nerd released a Christmas Special and what he covers in the special are games that are based on the bible. In the video, you’ll sit alongside the nerd as he plays through such classics as Bible Adventures (which has 3…3…3 games in 1!), Bible Buffet, Super Noah’s Ark 3D, Spiritual Warfare, and The King of Kings (wooo! another 3 in 1 game… that means it’s gotta be good!)

The videos are split into two parts and run for about 20 minutes. If you are one of the unlucky bastards who are stuck at work, then here’s your warning about the language of the video. If your a regular reader, then you’d know that the nerd has really bad (but sometimes pretty funny) language.

Bioshock Delayed Till June 2007

Wednesday, December 27th, 2006

bioshock.jpg

Well, it looks like I know what to ask for my birthday in June. Xbox360only is reporting that Bioshock, Irrational Games’ hugely anticipated science-fiction first-person RPG, has been delayed until June 2007.

No official press release has been released from Irrational Games, but I’m assuming it’s because of the holidays.
