Adios, Boys and Girls

Friday, January 11th, 2008

Ladies and Gents it pains me to say my farewells to 1PStart. I’ve been here only a short time, though I’ve been at Xbox 360 Rally (another 451 site) for just under a year. I will miss you guys, though you’re probably throwing a party, chanting “he’s leaving! Huzzah! Huzzah!”. If you do miss me, though, you can find me at my new home BingeGamer.net.

It’s been fun, and I hope to see y’all around.

P.S.: Qbix — E-mail me, dude. I’m still gonna get your GTA IV to ya.

1PStart Contest: Call of Duty 4 Giveaway Winner!

Tuesday, December 25th, 2007

The results are in for the winner of the Call of Duty 4 kick ass set that has made me oh so jealous as it sits in my room (I even managed to stay away from opening the strategy guide to ensure that it remained fingerprint free).

Congratulations to Justin, comment 88 with his great gun sound of:

“Ker-pow!”

Such an awesome gift set you lucky bastard. Thanks for all you who entered. If you anyone reading isn’t in a clan yet, add [1PSt] to your clan name and add me as your friend, I am on a lot and play all game types.

1PStart Contest: Super Mario Galaxy Coin Winner!

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

I apologies for not being able to get this out quicker as I planned, however, the results are in, out of all valid entries for the contest, random.org picked .. *drum roll* … Comment #5 ..Heather Bennett who answered the question of what Mario does to earn his coins,

Mario earns his coins by hitting a block. Yes, that is what it looks like…Simple and innocent, right?

Wrong.

When Mario pounds that poor block into submission with those stubby little fists, what he is really doing is committing a CRIME. He is mugging the block and stealing its hard-earned coins. Like taking candy from a baby. Or stealing a purse from an old lady on the streets. Yes, Mario is a criminal. A greasy little plumber. He’s just able to get away with it because, well, the block can’t chase him down (it has no legs) and it can’t rat him out (it has no voice…or mouth for that matter). So yes. For shame, Mario. For shame.

Amazing the things you people come up with. I suggest reading the other entries made (link). A good amount of you people have your minds in the gutter btw! Thanks all you people who entered this contest, if you haven’t already, there is still time (just today!) to get a chance to get Call of Duty 4 Collectors Edition and a bunch other stuff right here.

1PStart Contest: Super Mario Galaxy Coin

Saturday, December 8th, 2007

Oh boy, do we have a sweet contest for you here at 1PStart (actually, we have two, but one at a time folks!). Right now up for grabs is a Super Mario Galaxy coin that was only made for those who had pre-ordered the title. Did I pre-order? Nope. I just happened to be buying Super Mario Galaxy at a Target that did not mind giving me a couple of these coins they had behind the counter. Since it was such an easy swag for me to grab for you guys, it should then be no big hurdle for you to jump to try and win it yourself (but I will be damned if I still don’t love all the Sonic the Hedgehog photoshop entries from a few months ago). Here is how to win, no photoshop skills necessary (but will be accepted), however in the end, the winner is going to basically be completely random. Keep reading:

NinjaBee giving away Band of Bugs on PC (to lucky winner)

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

The kind folks over at NinjaBee have enlisted me to give you all notice: They’re holding a contest to give away a copy of Band of Bugs for the PC. You also get a T-Shirt, but let’s not kid ourselves — the game is the main draw here.

If you want to get a feel for Band of Bugs before you enter the contest, download the demo on Xbox LIVE. It’s a simple, fun, addictive little strategy game that, with the inclusion of a custom map creator, will have you coming back again and again.

And I’m not just saying that. I actually like this game.

Here’s how you enter the contest: You have to submit a picture of yourself with any character from the game, Band of Bugs. Doesn’t matter how you submit the picture (sketching, PhotoShop, MS Paint, etc.), but you have to submit a picture to [email protected]. Images are ranked based on humor factor, so get to makin’ the funny. The contest ends on November 30th, or a week from Friday, so get to it.

Rockstar giving away customized Manhunt 2 Wii

    Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007

    manhunt2wiibanner.jpg

I don’t know how Rockstar did it, but they found a way to make the Wii manly. In what I can only assume is celebration for beating the ESRB (after a long fight) and finally getting Manhunt 2 knocked down to a M rating, Rockstar Games and the Radio Rebellion Tour are co-sponsoring a giveaway on the Manhunt 2 website. The grand prize? A 50″ Plasma TV and this custom Manhunt 2 Wii.

If Nintendo saw what Rockstar had done to this thing, they would have probably crapped themselves. Either way, visit the official Rockstar website for Manhunt 2 to enter for your chance to win.
