Who’s Ready For More Delays?
Right on the heels of EA’s rumored delay of Mercenaries 2, comes word that Half-Life 2: Orange Box will be delayed as well…
Done yelling obscenities yet? It’s ok, I can wait.
Perhaps it was a bit mean of me to phrase it like that so let me clarify. Half-Life 2: Orange Box…for the PS3, will be delayed a few weeks. Feel better now? Good.
Doug Lombardi, Valve Software’s director of marketing, assured players that the PC and Xbox 360 versions of HL2: Orange Box would still be hitting their scheduled release on October 2nd, but stated that the PS3 version would trail the other two by a few weeks. Lombardi offered no insight as to why the PS3 version specifically was delayed, but whatever the reason is, is not a good sign for Sony.
Half-Life 2: Orange Box is a game package unrivaled on the marketplace today. Including 5 complete Source Engine titles, Orange Box is scheduled to be one of the best gaming deals of the season. Orange Box is set to allow players access to the original Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode 1, as well as brand new titles Half-Life 2: Episode 2, Portal, and the LONG awaited multiplayer shooter, Team Fortress 2. I can’t wait.
