Warning: You Can Lose Achievements if Your Email Dies

Talk about a bad bug. According to Gameindustry.biz, there’s a flaw in Xbox Live where if your Windows Live ID email address is deactivated due to things like it being an old email address that is unused, then you can kiss all of your Achievements goodbye. There’s no way around this problem either. If your email disappears than so do the Achievements and there’s nothing that can be done about it at this time. Now that this has been brought to the attention of higher ups, it looks like they are trying to find a fix for it.

I’m seriously at risk for this problem. My old email address is a Hotmail account that I abandoned due to Microsoft’s horrid spam filtering at the time and the general kick ass properties of Gmail. It looks like I’ll have to mark my calendar up with log in days just to save my account.
