TMNT Coming Out To XBLA This Wednesday

by BB

What a crazy ride the TMNT arcade game has gone through. First there were the rumors of it’s existence, then trailers and pictures came out that made us think this thing could be real, then last week’s confirmation of it’s existence, and today it’s confirmed TMNT will be released this Wednesday and will be available at the low low price of 400 MS Points ($5 USD).

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game will allow players to play as Leonardo, Donatello, Michaelangelo, and Raphael either through local play or over Xbox Live and all seven levels of the arcade game are ready for your nostalgic needs.

    400 points is a deal.

  2. BB Says:

How much were Frogger and Root Beer Tapper again? *snicker*

  3. Mindy Says:

$5 dollars sounds good. I’m not sure, so I’ll ask. Is this new content, the old NES game, or some other game I’d never heard of?

  4. BB Says:

This is the classic arcade game Mindy

  5. Dizzy Domes Says:

This is great news, one of my favorite games growing up. The arcade seems to be picking up lately. First Alien Hominid, then, Worms, and now TMNT. Let’s hope they keep this momentum going.

  6. BB Says:

Yea, I’m crossing my fingers for Castlevania to come out next week

  7. SSJGoku80 Says:

Oh yeah!! I remember wasting all my lunch money in grammar school just to play TMNT. That’s probably why I was soooo thin back in grade school. For 400 points it’s a steal. Online capablities equals sooo much fun.

  8. SSJGoku80 Says:

Now that I realize it….Why does the picture up top look like the cover of some really bad 80’s porn flick. I mean look at it. Or it could just mean that I am really bored at work.

  9. Dizzy Domes Says:

@SSJGoku80 LOL, I see what you’re saying. You like that sexy pose Leo is in?

  10. BB Says:

Leo is damn sexy in that picture

  11. E-Dubbs Says:

TMNT arcade definitely brings back memories! This is a must download for me. I dont care if it sucks… I remember spending a whole afternoon in the old bowling alley in North Bergen, with a bag of quarters next to me as I was determined to beat this game… Im not sure if I did though. =/

  12. BB Says:

@E-Dubbs, I don’t know any kid who was able to finish the game at the arcade. I remember my parents would only give me $1 worth of quarters, but it was near impossible to finish this game on only that amount. As for the bowling alley, was that Nungesser’s or the Bowling Alley on I think around 58th St. and Kennedy. I could be wrong about the exact street number, but I remember there was one on Kennedy back in the day

  13. E-Dubbs Says:

The one on Kennedy, where Circuit City, the movie theater, and all those other stores stand today. That whole area was a dump before they finally started developing on it.. but at least I was able to play TMNT! Too bad you really needed 3 other people playing with you to get through it.

  14. Justin Conte Says:

Why is this the same price as shit like Paperboy?

  15. BB Says:

Yea, I used to love that bowling alley too. I remember it was huuuuuuuge, but that might have been due to being just a little lad.
    .
And yea, you can’t get too far in TMNT without 3 other people with you. I hated having girls play because they were always so anal about what turtle they play, then when they finally played, they’d just continue hitting the jump button and was totally oblivious to the attack button right next to it!

  16. Syko 360 Says:

Damn this Wednesday I didn’t think I would see this thing for at least 6+ months. and at 400 points this will be in my collection for sure!

  17. Syko 360 Says:

Oh yeah and the Co-op over Xbox live with 3 other people will be huge. Hopefully they can get it virtually lag free at release and not have to patch it, For some reason 4 player games always seem to have trouble at release. Like Worms and such, But it is probably just to much traffic when everyone jumps on the new games.

  18. Rist Says:

I never got into TMNT (the show) when I was a kid… I heard it was really cool. I am def. buying this game! 400 points? Done! I love games like this!

  19. Ephraim Says:

    WTB more PS Network downloads.

  20. Mazz Says:

    @Ephraim:

I hear ya, I don’t understand why they havn’t gotten their act together.

  21. Ephraim Says:

Never mind it’s okay I totally got some hot 30 second trailers to watch on Thursday. Who needs Mortal Kombat II? Delay all you want… Yay trailers… and crappy demos. I’ll be happy when they bring out some better demos and DLable games.
