The Sony PS3 Remote
If you buy a PS3, there’s a good chance you’re going to watch some Blu-Rays on it. Hell, a lot of people bought PS3s only to watch Blu-Rays. The purchase of a remote is almost absolutely essential if you don’t want to mess around with the awkward and confusing controls found on the game controller.

I think the like column on this one is pretty easy. It’s a friggen remote that has clear labels, so it makes navigating through Blu-Rays an ease.
Eject button? Hell yeah.
It also has the potential of being a one handed controller, if you know what I mean.
Dislikes:
One thing that I really do not like about this thing is that there’s no simple on off button. You have to hit the PS button and then select to turn the console off. I realize that’s in place if you’re playing a game and you don’t want to accidentally turn the system off, but there should be some sort of loophole for Blu-Ray use.
Another potential dislike is that the PS3 is a Bluetooth only system, which is all fancy and futuristic. The problem here is that every single other electronic component on the planet still uses an IR port. I hope you see where I’m going with this. There’s no way in hell that someone can just program some simple functions into their universal remote to use the PS3 as a Blu-Ray player. Even worse are the poor suckers who own those really expensive remotes, because 99% of them aren’t Bluetooth enabled. So no matter how hard you try to cut down on the number of remotes laying around the house, you’re most likely going to need this one for your PS3. In turn, the Bluetooth remote can’t be used to do anything with the rest of your componets, either. Argh!*
Despite the inherent problems that go beyond the scope of whether or not this is a good remote, it’s a decent remote that does the trick if you’re sick and tired of using your Duelshock when watching Blu-Rays.
*There is a trick to get a regular remote to work on the PS3, but it requires work. No one likes that.
