Super Smash Bros. Brawl is going online!

You knew it was coming, right? I mean, it HAD to be coming, right?! Well… it is coming. Super Smash Bros. Brawl will, indeed, have online play. Pretty cool, huh? While there have been been announced plans for any voice support, and you’re still stuck with that God awful Wii friend codes bull(censored), but you’ll finally be able to go online and kick some ass online!
A few features have been announced for SSBB online, including a D-Pad based trashtalk system (with pre-loaded messages), and stat-tracking when you’re fighting against friends. However, if you enter a random match, there is no stat tracking NOR do you know who you’re playing against in random matches.
So really, while it’s good to see Nintendo finally start talking strides into online play, they still have a HUGE mountain to climb before they get to either the PlayStation Network, or the cream of the crop that is Xbox LIVE. (cue the venom-spewing Nintendo fanboys in 3, 2, 1…)
