Sony’s Marketing Team is Insane.

I don’t know what to say. For a company rife with controversy over it’s questionable ad content, you would think Sony would lay low for a while. To their credit, Sony has made changes to its corporate structure, and is working towards fixing the mistakes that have been made. Everything seemed to be looking up, and then they go and do something like this:

That picture is from the European launch party of God of War II. Yes, that’s a real goat that was decapitated for the event. To make things even better, Sony invited party guests to reach inside the goat carcass to eat offal from it’s stomach. I’m not sure what to say to all of this, but I’m pretty sure someone is getting fired over it.

I agree. Some heads should roll for this.

Stupid idea, but it’s working. Sony is in the news with this stuff again.
April 30th, 2007 at 2:01 am
true somewhat.. even bad ideas if they make the news can be good for business

You know what’s simply amazing about that picture. Yes, there is a decapitated goat. But look to the bottom left of the picture.
Dude….that chick is topless…
And that picture has made the rounds on the majority of the sites, and yet not one person has mentioned there is a topless chick in the picture. So now we know what it’ll take for men not to pay attention to a pair of naked breasts… a goat decapitation.

It was probably a euro ad campaign, that’s why no one said anything about the bewbs. Beaches sre topless across the pond you know. The exploitation of a half-naked woman doesn’t seem to bother people as much as eating meat I guess. Becuse that Big Mac you had for breakfast required the killing of a cow, but if the girl at the counter was topless, well…

Besides, I don’t think she’s technically topless, I believe she’s wearing paint-on red latex. Don’t ask how I know. I won’t tell…

@somewhat: You Canadians really are a weird group of people
April 30th, 2007 at 8:51 am
It’s the snow that does it to us. And the freakishly cold winters…

I’m surprised PETA (People Eating Tasty Animals) isn’t all over this yet.
April 30th, 2007 at 2:57 pm
I hope i didn’t offend any PETA people.. well actually yes i kinda do.
I like eating animals and that’s not gonna change. I am big on the environment, but I think eating animals is a good thing for the environment. Imagine what would happen if we never killed tasty animals and they took over.

@BB: You’ve got it all wrong. It is not us Canadians who are weird, it’s you Americans. It all depends on the point of view.
April 30th, 2007 at 8:03 pm
And we are on top… If you know what I mean…

Americans are too sensitive. I mean fuck it they beheaded a goat. It’s crazy sure.. but that sort of thing happens every day somewhere. Sony should probably get in trouble for being morons, but the actual beheading of the goat isn’t that big of a deal.
