Rock Band DLC Update: Week of 08-04-2008

Yeah, I know I suck. I missed last week’s “This Week in Rock Band”. If you want to see me dump on your favorite bands each and every week be sure to leave a comment. That just be what my lazy ass needs to spurn super regular editions. Anyway, this week’s Rock Band DLC brings back some more metal to a game that probably needs it. There’s the return of CrüeFest with a discounted pack of songs and a couple of tracks from System of a Down. Super sweet!

The songs are:

* “Rescue Me” by Buckcherry (CrueFest Pack #2)

* “Face Down In The Dirt” by Motley Crüe (CrüeFest Pack #2)

* “Life Is Beautiful” by Sixx AM (CrüeFest Pack #2)

* “B.Y.O.B.” by System Of A Down

* “Toxicity” by System Of A Down

The CrüeFest sequel pack is available for $2.99 (240 Microsoft Points) together or $.99 (80 Microsoft Points) per track. Nice deal if you like any of the songs. The System of a Down songs are going for the usual $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points).

My thoughts and videos after the break!

“Rescue Me” by Buckcherry

Sadly, this isn’t a song about the Denis Leary as a fireman show. At least it’s not Crazy Bitch, one of the most retarded and lame crappy bar band quality songs of all time.

“Face Down In The Dirt” by Motley Crüe

This is a pretty good effort by Motley Crüe. And when I say that, I mean it the way you tell your four year old that their horrid finger drawing of a cat is pretty good.

“Life Is Beautiful” by Sixx AM

Buckcherry and Sixx AM had a contest to see who could be the B side of this track pack and Buckcherry won based on their success with a song about cocaine which was thirty years too late. So yeah, this makes Life is Beautiful the C side, if such a thing is possible. It’s too bad too, because this song is about ten times better than anything Buckcherry will ever produce.

“B.Y.O.B.” by System Of A Down

This is the song that I dislike the most by System of a Down. I guess it’s because I can only take so much politics in my music, though I must admit it’s got some god damn catchy parts.

“Toxicity” by System Of A Down

Finally! A great System of a Down song on Rock Band. I think it’s the first song I heard by them where I realized that they kind of ruled. Now bring on freaking Aerials!
