PS3 Mortal Kombat II “Finish Him” Trailer

by BB

SOE has released a trailer showing off Mortal Kombat II playing on the PS3. As you can see from the trailer, the game stays true to it’s arcade counterpart and might actually be one of the better downloads on the Playstation Store.

I personally loved Mortal Kombat II more than any of it’s other versions of Mortal Kombat because it was the first Mortal Kombat game that added Friendships, Animalities, and Babalities aside from the usual Fatalaties. Another reason why MKII is held in high regards is because it’s the last MK game that kept some of the “realistic” graphics from that made the original Mortal Kombat that much better.

Didn’t think I was going to buy this, but watching the trailer is really nostalgic. Just like how we were talking about how old games felt more satisfactory. Those fatalities were a LOT more fun to succeed in doing than they are on the PS2 crap versions. Uppercut into a bunch of spikes, or making an arcade machine fall on them from the sky. Oh man those fatalities were classic

Yea, when I get my PS3, I plan on this being my first purchase. I remember being late to return to school from lunch just because of this game. I used to play it at this place called “First-Pan Pizza”, they were a pizzeria, but also served other things such as burgers and fries. Just watching this trailer brings back the nostalgia of smelling the grill cooking burgers since the machine was located pretty close to the grill.

MKII was far and away the best one. Although I wonder if they are going to balance out the jump kicks any.

  4. BB Says:

Yea…a swift uppercut can fix those up real nice

  5. Mazz Says:

Or… the old sweep sweep sweep sweep combo

Why didn’t they ever release this on XBL. I would definately get it.

I think when I am filthy rich I would pony up the money and buy the arcade machine. As for me no burgers and pizza . I would kill time by smelling the sweet smells of detergent and softener at our local laundromat. My dad would give me an abundance of quarters. Ahhhh..memories

The first arcade machine on my list is Initial D. Then DDR so I can get rid of this gut that can show up a pregnant woman. Then probably this and Marvel vs. Capcom 2. My dream gameroom! Doesn’t help that I have a perfectly fine pool table sitting in the garage with boxes piled on top of it…

  9. Rist Says:

Really bloddy… Reminds of the black knight scene from Monty Python and the Holy Grail…

  10. Mazz Says:

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is a great game. I think it’s every guy’s dream to have some type of arcade machine in their house. For me, it’s Time Crisis 3.

  11. Babylinda Says:

Oh yes a DDR machine would be necessary! When is DDR going to lets us upload our own music and make our own steps! That would be awesome

  12. Mazz Says:

You can do that with the PC emulator Dance With Intensity. Beware, it’s really hard to make the steps in time with the music.

  13. Ephraim Says:

Bah humbug! They pushed it back to April.
