Novel concept introduced in upcoming Wii game – Heroines with missiles for legs?

by

Some interesting insights have been provided in the latest issue of Famitsu into one of the most peculiar scheduled for release soon by Nintendo . A young woman named Holly Summers is the main protagonist in this new game, “No More Heroes”, produced by Grasshopper Manufacturer. Summers is ranked 6th in the game’s UAA ranking, but what is most novel is that she has a missile instead of a leg. . . sparking comparisons with the characters from the double feature film “Grindhouse”, though the weapon of choice in that movie is a machine gun instead of a missle. Quoting Gouichi Suda of Suda 51, “I wanted to show this character as quickly as possible since it looks almost like a character from the double-feature movie Grindhouse. But in the movie, it’s a machine gun, while Holly has a missile, so she has more firepower!

The game requires usage of both the Wiimote and nunchuk, making it a bit different from the gamers traditionally used to playing games by pressing buttons on the game controller, but Nintendo does not appear to be pertubed by this, instead stating that not all games are required to be played on the controller. Moves like sword duels and wrestling moves were not easily assigned the Wiimote and nunchuk, but the mood remains upbeat. As Suda said, “Assigning moves onto the Wiimote and nunchuk was difficult than I imagined. We have been so used to playing everything by pressing the buttons on the controller, but Nintendo’s stance is that this doesn’t always have to be the case. I think wrestling games will fit perfectly with the Wii. I’m sure power bombs will work great on this!”

The new game is also not similar to Killer 7, in fact, it is completely opposite to the other game’s theme. Quoting Suda 5, “”the game is not an extension of Killer 7, but goes the opposite direction, sort of like a reaction if you will. The story of Killer 7 was very complex so this time it will be very simple. The character was also complex since it had multiple personalities, but Travis as a character is much more clearer and simpler.”
Thus far we have only gotten to know of three of the main 13 characters in the game, and one of them is rumored to be the return of a familiar character, but we aren’t sure which one. Stay tuned for more coming soon!
