Ninja Gaiden DS coming in March 2008

There hasn’t been a Ninja Gaiden game on a Nintendo console since 1995, and there hasn’t been a new entry in the series on a Nintendo console since Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom in 1991. Well, that is about to change as Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword will be making its home on the Nintendo DS in March 2008. The gameplay mechanics will rely heavily on the touch screen, with taps and dashes made on the screen will simulate actions like running, jumping, and attacks.

If you’re curious about this game (and you should be), there is currently a demo for it available for download on the DS Download Station. I’ve downloaded it. I’ve played it. It’s actually pretty darn fun. I’m curious as to how the final product will play.
