New Years VC Release Kind Of Lame

In comparison to the Japanese Virtual Console releases, America has been getting the shaft. And now, yesterday’s Virtual Console release puts more salt in our wound. Urban Champion and Baseball. No…seriously, that was the Virtual Console update for 1/1/2007. A new year…and we get Urban Champion and Baseball.

For those of you who never played Urban Champion or Baseball, basically, they were first generation NES games. Urban Champion was basically a game where you just beat the hell out of your opponent through the streets. With every punch you land, your opponent would get pushed back a bit. The whole premise is to continually push them back far enough so they would fall through a man-hole and you’d win.

And baseball..was…well…a reaaaally bad baseball game. If they wanted to release an NES baseball game, they should have released Bad News Baseball. Now that was a kick-ass baseball game.
