New Punch-Out!! Coming Out For Wii?

I know, I know. You think I’m a genius for my last “Old-School Sundays” post for going with Punch-Out!! cause the story of the day is the possibility of a new Punch-Out!! coming out for the Wii.
The origins of this rumor is from N-Philes. They report that Nintendo has trademarked “Punch-Out!!” once again through the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The article goes on to say that the game could have possibly been in development since 2005 since that is the last time the game’s trademark was renewed.
I for one would love love love to see Punch-Out!! come for the Wii. It would be a perfect fit since the past games gave you a real sense of being in there with another boxer. How awesome would it be to see the faces of King Hippo, Super Macho Man, and Glass Joe once again.

Man this would be really great on the Wii. The Wii’s sensitivity need to be adjusted when boxing. Sometimes it recognize’s your punch other times it does nothing. In my opinion the Wii really needs to perfect the wii mote and nunchuck if it really wants to succeed. I’m ok with 75% feedback recognition but not when I’m throwing a devastating uppercut to my Pee-Wee herman Wii.

Well, if it’s been in development since 2005 like the article says, then I’m sure they got the controls to work well with the Wii. Wii Sports Boxing is a great game, but like you said, I wish the game wasn’t so sensitive to every move cause there have been times I jab out, and I end up doing a hook.

Will this be like Tyson’s punch-out? Or was there another punch-out?

Yep, that’s the same Punch-Out!! There was that one for the NES and Super Punch-Out!! for the SNES.

I remember the good ol’ days when my older brother Gonzo, Mr. Sandman’d BB with the 3rd uppercault in his arsenal. I never knew people in real life got X’s over their eyes when falling down. I was the mario referee, who TKO’d BB on that fateful evening. I swear I heard a yelp on the way down, and music playing in the background when Lil Mac gets knocked down.

Yea, I did a really good job ducking the first two uppercuts, but the last one caught me right in the chin and then I don’t remember nothing too good after that.
