Modders Already Working Against Halo 3 Beta

by

losers.jpg

It’s so sad that some modders spend their boring lives trying to ruin fun for everyone else. We discovered evidence through an email tip that large groups of modders have already begun stealing code from Halo 3 beta. Some modders have provided us with some great fun on certain games, but what they did to Halo 2 ruined most of the fun. It looks like they are getting a head start on Halo 3.

Due to the nature of these morons who will try and ruin our fun, I will not list their web address here. I will also not display any of the images with stolen code. I do not want to encourage more losers to join in. Games like Halo are best played as is. Save your modding for offline games and custom games with your middle school level friends. Right now, Bungie needs to get their head out of their asses and put a stop to these people. The so called “ban hammer” Bungie always bragged about for Halo 2 never worked. What are they going to do this time? This cheating has to come to an end. Microsoft and Bungie need to up their attention in this department. What’s the deal with these bums anyway? Did their moms and dads not give them enough attention when they were little?

Before the little kids that whine about getting “modded” in matchmaking come in and ruin the discussion, let me point out a video to you called “Why We Mod” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HptMIgQN_k
This is a video demonstrating what Prey referred to when he said “Where-as you have around 20 maps to play with, we have literally 100’s! With new vehicles/weapons/skins/characters/sounds these ‘new’ maps are an absolute blast to play.”
Cheating is dumb, I, as well as SEVERAL others, look down on the kids that cheat on Xbox Live. It gives the real modders a bad reputation. We don’t want to ruin anything for anyone, we just want to have fun with others who have the same belief. I wish the information leading to auto-aim had never been discovered, or released, so that this wouldn’t happen. But, it did, and it’s a problem. Realize though, the ones who cheat in MM, 90% don’t know how to open a map in a modding program, and make something useful. They are NOT MODDERS, they are JUST CHEATERS.

Halo 3 modding will be a wonderful thing, for us. Don’t gripe at us, if Bungie doesn’t secure their software.

Bungie pretty much have Matchmaking nailed shut now, which is a good thing. But even Microsoft knows user created content is a good thing as its being introduced through marketplace in comming years. Having the ability to change aspects of the game is fun for people who dont really care much about ranking systems and such as it can give an old game a fresh lease of life.

For MANY people modding and user created content is the sole reason they still play halo 2, for these people standard Halo 2 became stale a long time ago, and by having wacked out gametypes and custom content keeps them playing.

Cheaters are a bad thing to modding but its unfortunatley part of the scene. At the end of the day people are bad, and like to get one over on other folk, thats why kiddies will apply the ppf hacks and goto match making bragging that they are “l337 Haxzors” and also why some players will practice for 10 hours a day to teabag you after they beat you and curse in chat. Both are just trying to make themselves feel better about themselves.

fuck you fag dont come on our website in steal shit u fucking prick

Wow, most of these comments just justify the beliefs I have thanks to Halo-2 about modders. I can tell you that the majority of so-called ”modders” on XboxLive use their mods to cheat. Period. After being cheated on five or six times in a session, you develop a healthy distate for modders. I happen to love Red vs Blue, and realise this is modding also, but coming on here and bitching about how your picture was ‘’stolen” is pretty lame, as the little cheaters on live do pretty much the same thing with the mods posted by so-called ”ethical” modders. If you didn’t post the mods, the kids wouldn’t cheat with them. Putting the blame on bad matchmaking by Bungie is the same as telling a cop you won’t pay a fine because chevrolet made your Corvette too fast, so it’s their fault. Keep deluding yourself if you want, but anyone cheatig to win on Live should be instantly banned. To the true modders out there, I sincerly wish you continued success, as I quite enjoy the movies that are made this way.

  5. averhan Says:

Uhh, these guys are modding to have fun in customs, systemlink and splitscreen, not to cheat in matchmaking :? I admit there are cheating modders, but they are not as common as ‘for fun’ modders because you can cheat much easier without modding (standby, bridging, etc)

  6. Tural Says:

How dare you have the audacity to say we are doing this to cheat, to mod on Live, or anything of the sort. I suggest you check your fucking facts before you go posting your bullshit stories on a site, and thus giving everyone the wrong impression about what we are doing. Any Live modder, or any cheater at all (Even if not a Live modder) gets an instant and permanent ban from the HM site. No exceptions. We do not support any of that bullshit. God I can’t believe how your thought process must have went. You are the exact reason why everyone thinks modders are a bunch of cheating douchebags. This is some of the worst, unfactually based and biased reporting I have ever seen in my entire life. You are not fit to share the internet with people of intelligence.

  7. Kezins Says:

somewhat i agree. their comments more than justify this story even more. Come on guys..it’s the beta and you are already so bored with your lives that you have to try and mod. Sure I think mods can be fun on certain games, but modding is what ruined Halo 2. Whether it’s just a few of the modders or whatever, it does not matter.

Modding is what turned multiplayer into a completely retarded thing. Halo is a great game on it’s own and doesn’t need anything extra. It’s why we pretty much stopped playing ranked matches a very long time ago. So regardless of whether some of you have good intentions, in the end modding will ruin games like this for the majority of players out there. If you get so bored with a game, just play something else and stop putting content out there that will eventually ruin it for the majority of people who play by the rules.

  8. Kezins Says:

the flying warthog for example.. who f***ing cares? If I wanted to fly, get in a flying vehicle. I just hope with Halo 3 that they keep modders off multiplayer. If they want to modd, they need to keep it to themselves and keep it in custom games.

Even that shouldn’t be allowed, but it’s better than them ruining it for all of us. I guess the real point is that they don’t care. You guys making the comments may not be the ones actually cheating us, but your actions promote others to do so.

  9. Trulife8342 Says:

Ok you listen you ignorant sorry excuse for a human, There is a fine line between modder, and cheater, Cheaters ruined the Halo 2 Online play, Modders enhanced the gameplay, I for one have done numerous modifications to the AI system for Halo 2, that would be considered an enhancement, Not cheating, So please keep your ignorant comments to your self, and I think you are the one that needs a life, because who is more pathetic, the people that made the program, or the person that takes the time to express or let me use a better term “bitch” about it, grow a brain kid, and when you do I suggest you use it.

Stop giving modders a bad name.

  10. SB Says:

How about we all stop arguing. This was going to happen, no game is unhackable. Just be glad that the people who discovered this information had the sense to put it to a good cause. All the guys above are actually saying the same thing. Modding is good, cheating is bad. Simple as that. At halomods, we mod for creativity and as a social activity which we have fun doing, without ruining any one elses fun. Some people cheat, get over it, its not the modders fault, because no matter how hard bungie try (I am sure they realise this) they can’t really stop people cheating. Please don’t talk about something you don’t understand next time.

It’s selfish, stubborn biggits like you who give the modders who mod for fun and them selves (out of xbox live) a bad name.

Oh and number one rule at halomods where this was sourced from is don’t discuss cheating, believe it or not, we are in the same boat.

  11. Kezins Says:

if there are groups out there using this for good, keep it in a private passworded forum for your group or something. With the info just sitting out there for anyone like myself to stumble across, the malicious people are going to use it for the wrong things. That’s my main issue.

Believe me, I am not anti-hacker. I have hacker friends in fact.

  12. jonlewi5 Says:

i have visited the site where wan5 and a lot of the other MODDERS are based and can say there work is for FUN, modders are the reason the xbox1 sold so well cos of things like XBMC etc and of course halo, i have seen that vid (why we mod)and think it absoloutly fantastic, these people are not modding to cheat they are doing to inject a bit MORE fun into the game and also as a test of knowledge and skill, u ladies should try it some time, it is fun

  13. Kezins Says:

in my opinion, Halo does nod need modders..especially Halo 3 beta.. just play the Beta and enjoy the way it was designed

  14. ducktape Says:

well what if other people dont enjoy it? they enhance it so they will like it for themselves, not to go cheat on Live. get your facts straight.

  15. sangheili Says:

Why dont you people see for yourself and come to our site, to see our work.

There are two types of modders: The ones who do it for enjoyment, and ones who do it to cheat other people out of fair play.

We are the ones who mod for fun. Our mods are VERY different from the hacker’s mods. Example: We make custom content, like battle rifles and add it to halo 1. Cheaters will add extra auto aim to their weapons.

These people are modding the beta for FUN, and FUN only. Shut your mouth about stuff you don’t understand. This article is about as pointless as your life.

  16. Kezins Says:

look sangheili, the Beta is out her for us to play test and for Bungie and Microsoft to monitor various results. Modding at this stage can only mess up what’s happening.

I’m sorry you disagree with me, but honestly modding ruined Halo 2, and if it continues it will eventually ruin Halo 3. What’s so wrong with the game as is. I’m having a blast playing beta the way it comes.

  17. Prey Says:

As am i. I only created the application in the first place to get to grips with the new mapfile structure, for this is what interests me, a pasttime if you like.

If you are worried into thinking that people are going to ruin the beta by modding it in matchmaking then think again. I wont go into all the logistics of it but basically no-one yet knows a way of calculating the signature for the xboxes generic container file, which houses the maps.

So whilst we can edit them on the pc, there is no way as-of-yet to get them back on the xbox. Hopefully that will now put your mind at ease and we can all stop arguing this pointless argument.

  18. DGNeo Says:

Too bad they’re not taking apart the maps to mod you guys, they’re taking it apart for personal knowledge.

  19. Somewhat_is_clueless Says:

Somewhat, your analogy is wrong. You are biatching about modders and blaming them for cheaters.

Your analogy makes no sense in that context.

    A better analogy would be:
You (the guy biatching about cheaters) should be out blaming Cheverolet and other car manufacturers for the accidents and deaths because they made the cars other used to commit those accidents.

After all the modders who user the tools they create for their own enjoyment and not to ruin other people’s fun are not at fault it is the people that use the tools wrongly. Just as it is the fault of the people who wrongly use a vehicle and drive to fast, or drive drunk, etc.

    You’ve been pwned.
