Microsoft Vista: Gamers Should Consider Waiting

Microsoft Vista has boasted claims that it is a superior gaming environment over XP and other operating systems. Currently, there are no real benefits of running to the store and upgrading to Vista.
Rob Williams of Techgage has been running tests of Vista vs. XP and for now XP still comes out on top for a gaming environment. He discovered that in most games, XP performs better. There are still considerable changes that must take place with Vista for it to become a “must have” upgrade.
I have tested Vista myself and am honestly not impressed. Sure, it looks great, but it’s performance that really matters. Direct X 10 should make a big difference when the new games start coming out. There are also no immediate plans to release the new Direct X for any OS other than Vista. Eventually, you’ll have to purchase the new OS for this reason, but for now it’s not really something you have to buy.

I agree Kezins, I personally am going to wait for a little bit before I upgrade to Vista. One thing the PS3 has taught me is that “patience is a virtue”. There’s no need to go out and rush to buy the new OS because it’s new. You should go out and buy it once it’s able to run on my PC with no problem at all. I have too sweet of a setup right now with my home network that I’m really in no hurry to spend a whole weekend trying to get it up and running again.
