Left 4 Dead DLC Info and Some Ranting

Look, I love Left 4 Dead, but I’ll agree that the most accurate critique of the game is that it’s very limited for a sixty dollar game. It’s sixty dollars of fun, but it does leave you feeling that there could have been more to it.
Of course, that leaves room for DLC. The first nuggets of info on what the DLC will be have been released, so fans should be happy. According to Destructoid, the DLC will be two full on campaigns for Versus mode and a new Survival mode. There’s no word on pricing or anything useful like that.
My only beef is that the game is so bare bones that having to buy DLC to give it a little more to do is kind of like a kick in the crotch as a cash grab. I’ll happily purchase DLC when I feel like I haven’t been shorted. Not once while playing Halo 3 that there needed to be more guns. I never thought that Call of Duty 4 didn’t have enough maps. These are both things I thought about while playing Left 4 Dead, though. If the two campaigns are Dead Air and Death Toll, that will only serve as proof that actual game play was held back. DLC should be new content, not a mode that was held back to make extra cash from fans of the game.
Before we get super angry though, let’s wait for some more details.
