Killzone 2 Demo Ready To Take On Halo 3 Beta?

Remember Killzone 2? The game that gamers everyone had been drooling over because it was stated that all of the action seen in the video demo was all “in-game”? Well, the big rumor for today is that Killzone 2 is farther in development than we may think. In fact, 1UP’s Luke Smith believes that PS3 owners will be able to get a demo for Killzone 2 sometime before the Halo 3 beta begins.
If this rumor is true, this would actually be a great way to defuse some of the excitement 360 owners are feeling for Halo 3. The original Killzone was dubbed as the “Halo-killer”, and it actually was not that great. Hopefully, the developers learned from their mistakes and can make a game that might actually be worthy of going head-to-head with Halo.

Sony really needs something to bring back the PS3. The majority of my gamer friends as well as I feel that the PS3 has undoubtedly been a flop. The cancellation of Gran Turismo HD just added to all the trash talk. If Sony doesnt get some good games quickly they will never stand a chance of competing with the Xbox 360.

The drought of games is almost over for PS3 owners. Feb 20th, Virtua Fighter comes out and then there will be a steady stream of games coming out every week after that.

Good move, if true. The Halo 3 hype is getting pretty big, so it’d be a good move on Sony’s end to have a Killzone demo ready for release. Not to mention that a demo is typically more polished than a beta, so you COULD (I emphasize) start hearing about the “Halo Killer” mantra all over again.

Halo > Killzone. I honestly don’t know if anything can kill the juggernaut that Halo has become.

Dana, it’s possible. Halo is without flaws — they still haven’t gotten their multi-player perfected yet, by Bungie’s own admission, and after looking at the screens for Halo 3… it’s not looking that “WHOA!” anymore. But unless Sony comes out with a Killzone on par with the infamous E3 video, I think Halo’s crown is safe.

I actually rerally enjoyed the first Killzone and am looking forward to the 2nd installment (if I get a Ps3 that is). I can’t see it being a Halo killer in terms of sales or fan devotion but it’s certainly looking very very good.

The first Killzone was ok in my opinion… nothing to write home about. I think Halo 3 is safe, unless they really shock us. Halo 2 is one of the few games I can never truly get tired of and that says a lot. Bungie has it’s problems of course. I left the online scene for a while basically because I was tired of cheaters and modders, but it seems most of that has gone away.
From what I have seen, I think Halo 3 will dominate. And Halo 2 will probably continue to rule at the same time.
