Jessica Biel To Play ‘Chun Li’ in Street Fighter Movie

Various sources have confirmed that Jessica Biel is likely to accept the role of Chun Li for the Hyde Park/20th Century Fox movie adaptation of Street Fighter. The part was already passed up by Keira Knightley and Jessica Alba. I’d probably prefer to see Alba in the film, but I’d prefer to see her in any film. Jessica Biel would probably be a better fit than Knightley. The film is expected to be released in 2008. The main character will be Chun Li.
I’m definitely looking forward to this film, considering I was a big fan of the Street Fighter series back in the day. We do know the story will focus on her character, but the exact storyline is still top secret.

I am sorry but how about getting an asian actress to play Chung Li! I am not being racist or anything but dont you think Ziyi Zhang would have made a better fit? Ziyi Zhang= Memoirs of a Geisha, House of Flying Daggers, etc.

Seriously, that was the first thing I thought. Hello, Chun Li is chinese. Why must hollywood screw with things from my childhood so much? First the Transformers look like crap, now this?
