I Lived Through The Rockstar Server Crash…And All I Got Was This Lousy Trailer [Update 2]

by BB

In case you didn’t know or were too busy with actually living your life, today was the day the GTA IV trailer was supposed to debut. At first, I’m sure you all were doing the same thing I was. Cursing like a sailor at your computer because the moment the trailer went “live”, the page wasn’t loading. For longer that I would have liked actually.

Right now I’m still trying to view the trailer. As soon as I get to view the trailer, I’ll update what I saw and any opinions I may have. I’ll also attempt to put the actual video on this page, so check back often tonight to get updated on the GTA IV Trailer.

[Update: I finally got to see the trailer. Here's what I was able to understand from the trailer:

  • The setting will be in Liberty City
  • The graphics are a huge improvement from older GTA games
  • The main character is Russian
  • The trailer was awesome

Right now I'm in the midst of downloading the trailer which I will upload onto the 1PStart YouTube account and then I'll embed the video here, so stay tuned kiddos!]

[Update 2: Yay! Got the trailer up!]

Breathtaking… This Russian dude looks like those crazy international guys who fear nothing. Nor cold weather, nor people smuggling, nor Liberty City. I truly think that this game will put to shame the other GTA’s. Prostituting Ho’s, in the past, will look like a game of dodgeball on Easter Sunday compared to the brutallity I sense in this game.

    Where am I …..Still downloading.

  3. SSJGoku80 Says:

Finally got to watch it…..It looks a lot like NYC. The graphics look amazing. Definately a next-gen game.

  4. Mazz Says:

Bah, only disappointment is that theres no custom character controls. I enjoyed Saint’s row creation stuff greatly, sad to see it not here.

  5. SSJGoku80 Says:

That would be awesome. Being able to play as yourself in GTA. I guess they didn’t want to make it look too much like Saints Row. When does it come out again?

  6. Mazz Says:

10.16.07 is what the site says

  7. chad Says:

Looking forward to seeing it on 1pstart.com as I’m too lazy to find it elsewhere

  8. BB Says:

And I’m looking forward to getting it here already, but stupid YouTube is taking it’s sweet ass time processing it :P

  9. BB Says:

@Mazz: If there’s an online multiplayer, whether it be co-op or deathmatch, you can be sure you’ll be able to customize your character. It would make more sense than having different colored russian dudes running around

  10. SSJGoku80 Says:

    I must break you….lol

  11. Ephraim Says:

Yeap I crashed when it launched too

  12. Kezins Says:

we still can’t be certain about graphics Beebster.. that could all be cutscene but i am sure the graphics will be better. I also despise cut scenes and wish all games would do away with them.

  13. Nick Says:

I think that the hype was all unfounded. The trailer was very short, to say the least. They certainly weren’t out to give anything away.

  14. Justin Conte Says:

    Boring. Liberty City? Yawn.

  15. Mazz Says:

Is it just me, or does anyone else see some performance hits during the demo. Has GTA overstepped itself graphically?

  16. BB Says:

@Justin: Your crazy man, GTA III’s Liberty City was the best man, much better than Vice City & San Andreas’s cities, I’m happy that it’s back in Liberty City

  17. PacoDG Says:

http://thepiratebay.org/tor/3650518/Grand_Theft_Auto_4_First_HD_Trailer Full 720p HD trailer that can be had in about 6-7 minutes via torrent.

  18. Seb656 Says:

The trailer looks great. I just hope that GTA4 can live up to its expectations. In my eyes crackdown completely changed what a sandbox game can be.

  19. Kezins Says:

I’d have to say I liked Liberty City the best myself.

  20. SSJGoku80 Says:

You have to admit. Crackdown was pretty good.

  21. Mazz Says:

The trailer is now up on live marketplace. Take that sony fanboys! :p
