Halo 2 vs. Halo 3

by Mazz

I found this pretty interesting video highlighting the differences between Halo 2 and Halo 3.

It’s pretty obvious that the game has made significant changes over it’s predecessor, and I can’t wait to see what it will look like in it’s final form. Of course, most of you on the Halo 3 beta have seen this advancement for yourselves, but I never bought a copy of Crackdown, so I just get to watch videos. Jerks.

this film doesn’t totally give H3 beta justice. Of course the graphics and gameplay have been improved but there are many aspects I simply love about H3 Beta. For one, team work is absolutely essential. If you end up with a group of jerks on your team, you will probably lose no matter how good you are. This was not the case in Halo or Halo 2. One man could really win the battle for his team in H2. This game requires a bit more strategy.

I also love the hiding spots in H3. In the H2 there really weren’t many good hiding places. This game is full of them and you have to use them to take advantage of. If you find yourself outmatched and outgunned, there’s still a good chance to get away with all the cover and escape routes available.

I love the Beta!!!!! Its definitely way more balanced than H2 is..though I love H2 to an extent. But H3 will totally pown H2 when it comes out. Playing Hide and Seek on H3 maps will be so much fun lol I’ve already found several good hiding spots on the maps lol Gotta Love Bungie! :]

I am a Halo Junkie. Halo was my favorite game of all time. Halo 2 did shame to the Halo series besides the matchmaking. Halo 3 is going to be the perfect blend of 1&2 with a few goodies wrapped in. I cant stay off my 360. The man cannon is a nifty toy. sniping now takes skill. The reimplmentation of the assult rifle was a wonderful idea. The mongoose is great for quick attacks. run at a squad of 3 and manage to kill them all with a gunner on the back. Not to mention the CTF possibilities. Trip mines, bubble shields, and grav lifts really add to the halo feel. The use of a lobby systme in which you can make a team out of random people you meet is perfect. I can regularly get a good team of 4 no problem. I have been reading Sun Tzu’s the Art of War. The tactics he gives are actually stunningly accurate. He describes that you should attack an opponent as they leave a river. Last night me and my team used the high ground on Valhalla to destroy a mongoose + passenger when they used the water route.

  7. Kezins Says:

i’m glad they made sniping more of a challenge. in Halo 2, it was way too easy.

    @ Kezins
Yeah, if you had a good team that helped to keep you covered, you were untouchable with a snipe in Halo-2. The Beta is a whole new world, thankfully. Back to HaloCE’s roots and what made it so fun!
