Halo 2 Maps: Hang Em’ High & Derelict
Bungie announced the new Halo 2 maps are being released on April 17. Honestly, I can’t call this big news considering Halo 3 is right around the corner. I think they should be ashamed of themselves charging for these maps with all the money they have made off the consumers already. Anyways, the two new maps are available for $4 on XBL and you cannot use Microsoft Points to purchase them. Hang Em’ High and Derelict are the new maps coming out. Hange Em’ High was immensely popular on the original Halo, so I will be curious to see how much they have changed on it.
The two maps will bring new life to ancient battlefields and legendary skirmishes, as both are new, improved and redesigned remakes of fan favorites from the original “Halo: Combat Evolved. For the price of $4 for the pair, these maps bring a fresh burst of action to the seminal “Halo 2 online multiplayer experience. Both of the maps will be available through the “Halo 2 in-game content downloader for both Xbox and Xbox 360.*
The king of “Halo maps has returned at last. Hang ’Em High, arguably the most popular multiplayer map for the original title, has been reimagined for “Halo 2 as Tombstone, with all-new graphics, features and a few hidden surprises. Now fans will enjoy the dangerous catwalks and trenches that made this the most requested “Halo multiplayer map ever, with a modernized “Halo 2 flavor.

The only good news is that if you still play on an old Xbox, you can use the maps. Even better still if you were waiting for the 120 GIG 360, cause now I can wait until the fall when it’s problems and cures should be taken care of, instead of being first in line. 4$ is cheap, cheaper than a bag of chips and a soda at the movies. But only 2 maps ? C’mon !

Wow at least they are still coming out with maps…lol

Wait, people still play halo 2? How is that even possible? Don’t get me wrong, halo is great and all… but great enough to warrant play over years? hardly.

People still play Quake 2 Mazz. Just because time passes doesn’t mean a game isn’t fun anymore.

Yeah. I guess Halo 2 is still good to some people. Rock on Halo 2.

Hang ‘Em High… er… Tombstone… is just a reason my friends’ll be slaughtering me even worse at Halo! I need to practice my ass off starting in May.

Yeah ….once Halo 3 is ready to come out it will be nothing but Halo 2 for me…lol

“I think they should be ashamed of themselves charging for these maps with all the money they have made off the consumers already. Anyways, the two new maps are available for $4″
.
Dude, are you serious? $4 dollars? No company should be ashamed of themselves for charging people $4 dollars. Well, except for Bethesda

I don’t know about this. So late in the game, the Halo 3 beta is already coming, I think they should have thrown these ones out here for free. I still play (a lot), and cheaters still run pretty rampant.. I don’t feel good about paying for new maps just to get cheated on in two more places. I think I will just use the money to buy those two new Lost Planet maps that came out a bit ago, and sit and wait for the Beta of Halo 3 to happen already (its gotta be soon!)

I realize $4 is cheap, but I guess from a marketing standpoint, I think these companies need to work on developing more loyalty from their consumers and freebies from time to time especially on an older game would do that. We’re heading into this era where we are being nickel and dimed to death on all these games and sooner or later, people will get tired of it.
Halo 2 is still great fun. I play it more than any other game myself to this day.

PacoDG cheating really annoys me more than anything in the world. I think Halo 2 would be 100 times better if they had found ways to eliminate the cheaters. This is why we don’t even play ranked games anymore.. and we still get cheated from time to time.
Cheating killed my love for Mech Assault and I’m really surprised it didn’t do the same when it came to Halo. Now if Halo 3 comes out and they didn’t take extra steps to eliminate cheating, I may finally get tired of the series for good.

Tombstone looks really really cool. I never really played Halo 1 that much, but when I did I didn’t see the big deal about Hang ‘Em High. But, I CAN see the big deal about this!

halo is fun and all, but it’s not worth obsessing over. this map looks awesome.

I’m going to obsess over Halo just cause I want to beat my friends at it. I shall reign supreme in Halo 3! And if not I’ll go hide under a rock like I have been already.

i know what you mean. I actually didn’t get into Halo 2 until a few months after it was out. I was already behind the curve considering most people had Halo experience. Fortunately, I’m not really behind the curve for the release of 3.

Yeah…the Halo 2 online experience was like nothing I have ever seen. I am still not ready to see what it’s going to be like when part 3 comes out. I can already see my gamerscore reputation going waaaay down….lol
