Game Trailers Reviews Top Ten Video Game Franchises

by Kezins

10. Metroid
09. Warcraft
08. Tom Clancy
07. Resident Evil
06. Madden
05. Metal Gear
04. Grand Theft Auto
03. The Legend of Zelda
02. Final Fantasy
01. Mario

Their list is full of great games, but I really have to disagree with their order and they are also missing some great games.

Here’s the Kezins’ Top Ten Franchise list the proper way it should be:

10. Metroid
09. Castlevania
08. Metal Gear
07. Tom Clancy
06. Legend of Zelda
05. Madden
04. Grand Theft Auto
03. Sonic
02. Final Fantasy
01. Mario

Sega haters always seem to leave out Sonic, which is unfair because he should be an obvious top 10 pick for everyone. After all, Sonic is the guy who knocked Nintendo right off the mountain back in the day.

  1. Kezins Says:

I also think once Halo 3 is released, we’re gonna have to add them to the top 10.

  2. PacoDG Says:

Grand Theft Auto should not be atop of Zelda. That is just plain wrong!

I see and know of more Castlevania games than Metroid games (honestly, other than the couple of Metroid Prime games, what has Samus done for us lately).

I would dare say put Capcom up there somehow (whether it be for Street Fighter series or Mega Man).

  3. BB Says:

I disagree with your putting Sonic so high up on your personal list Kezins. Sonic is a great character, but his games for the past 5 years or so have been utter crap, so I don’t think he should be so high. In fact, I don’t think he deserves to be on the list altogether.
Zelda should be a lot higher on both lists. Anytime a Zelda game comes out, it sells tons and gets great acclimations and awards. Zelda should be 3.

  4. Babylinda Says:

Mario will always have the #1 spot! I have never done wrong playing any mario related game! Final Fantasy is pretty flippin awesome also!

  5. Justin Conte Says:

when determining a franchises worth, all games must be included and weighed; frankly by now Sonic has more crap than he does god games. This is the same reason Pokemon shouldn’t make the list, though if we just included the main games Pokemon would rival even Mario.

  6. SSJGoku80 Says:

Whoa….y is Resident Evil number 7. resident should be in the top 5 at least. But I do agree with the list you guys created. Nice!!!

  7. JigsawGirl Says:

I also disagree. Zelda should be top 3. Sonic shouldn’t. And Castlevania needs a better position. And I agree with PacoDG that Capcom should be up there.

  8. SEGADREAMCAST Says:

Remember though Sonic Kicked Mario right off his empire in the 1990’s..He Damn deserves to be on that list. Oh and this is Classic Franchises Not recent…(HALO ect.)

  9. Kezins Says:

yeah.. i’m not putting Sonic up there for his recent games… he knocked Mario and Nintendo off the top and because of it, Sonic will always deserve a top spot.

  10. Tim Says:

God I hate hate hate I’m using the word hate here FINAL FANTASY! I’m serious I want that franchise to die and rot in the ground.

  11. Mindy Says:

Like others here, I definitely think Zelda has a rightful place in the top 3. And considering I don’t play Final Fantasy or Sonic games, they aren’t in my own personal list. But there’s only a few franchise games I do play and enjoy, anyway.

  12. somewhat Says:

WHAT ? NO HALO ? A TRAVESTY OF JUSTICE HAS BEEN COMMITTED ! ALSO, WHO REMEMBERS PONG, AND ASTEROIDS ? OR PAC-MAN & MS. PAC-MAN. I’M OLD.

  13. Justin Conte Says:

The lack of Pokemon making it is an injustice.

  14. Mazz Says:

Warcraft should have been higher on the list. WoW has had a gigantic impact on the industry, and should be recognized.

  15. Mazz Says:

I’m not sure metroid really should be on the list…. Other games seem to have changed the industry more.
