Fresno State Shooting Apparently Over A Playstation
Last night, news broke of a shooting near the campus of Fresno State University. At this point, it is confirmed that one victim is dead and 2 injured. The shooter, who is believed to be Jonquel Brooks a Fresno State student, was on the run. Although at one point there was a standoff where police had communications with Brooks, he managed to escape but was tracked down by officials and is now in custody.
The violence was started over a stolen Sony PlayStation. This is another blow to the video game community, considering some in the media will probably try to blame this on games. It’s extremely sad that someone would kill for a simple machine that doesn’t cost a lot of money. The deceased is a former Fresno State student and one of the injured individuals is a current student. With the recent tragedy at Virginia Tech, college campuses across the nation do not need more violence like this.
I hope that one day people will realize that there are no good reasons for murder. I also hope that the press does not blame this situation on gaming. Our thoughts at 1P Start are with the Fresno State University community in yet another tragic college town event.

Someone stole my ColecoVision once. I slaughtered an entire village, including women, children, and livestock. Still not satisfied, I set fire to a bus load of nuns holding puppies.
