FREE Xbox 360 Elite?! I’ll TAKE IT!

I really can’t stand the internet sometimes. There are ads everywhere, even on this page if you look close enough (I know, they’re soooo well hidden). But this one truly put a bee in my bonnet. It hasn’t even been a month since Microsoft “officially” announced plans on releasing the Xbox 360 Elite, and there’s already a stupid ad out there advertising the chance of getting a “Free” Xbox 360 Elite.
How stupid are people that they would actually fall for this ad? I understand the ad companies would like to make as much money as they possibly can on preying on the weak minded, but this is just insulting.
Anyone else get ticked at these kind of ads?
Microsoft, Xbox 360, Elite, ad

Advertisers become unscrupulous when there are no controls. In Canada an ad like this would be revoked, and heavy fines would have to be paid for false claims. But not on the uncontrolled internet ! Yay ! Long live freedom of speach, no matter how dastardly.

These ads are dumb, but I had a buddy that actually got an Xbox by doing the three things he had to do. They kept dickign him on it until he wrote an email saying he was hoping he could get it for his son’s birthday and they sent it to him… even though he really doesn’t have a kid.

these free schemes are absurd and completely dilute the value of the internet and advertising. I think that there needs to be some regulation of these online ads. The feds try to bust up those silly Nigeria emails we all get and the bank scams, so why not these bozos?
I really think we have a serious problem in the United States right now. It seems like we have some sort of morality war going on and the priorities of the people are so mixed up. We’re worried about GTA4 being so terrible when it’s really not that big of a deal, yet we allow companies to rip off people every day with BS false claims. I’m smart enough not to fall for that crap like the one above, but a lot of people are drawn into them out of hope. It’s kind of like watching people who make $5 an hour spend half their paychecks on lotto tickets.

Kezins, it’s their own dumb fault for buying the lotto tickets.
There will never be a law that will help the stupid.
