First Wii Mod-Chip Created

Wiinja is the first ever mod-chip created for the Wii. According to the creators, you can’t run import games, but only backup copies of games in your own region. They have even included a video that shows how the mod-chip can play backup games. There aren’t any tricks used in the video, so it seems pretty straight-forward. The asking price for the mod-chip is 39.95€ ($51.00 USD)

The conversion in American dollars is around $51 dollars and some change. That is not too bad. I think the super nintendo mod was a bit more back in the day.I recall my dad going into a little Asian store in the back for it. Aww memories:)

The site is getting hammered or something, I can’t get it to come up. Any mirrors?

I noticed that too, when you go to wiinja.com, nothing comes up at all. That’s why I linked to the place where you can purchase it. If it comes up later, I’ll update this article stating it’s up.

I hope for Nintendo’s sake they are able to stop this with a firmware update.

I’m confused, I’ve never been into modding but what exactly does this do?

There’s also news of a DVD Firmware hack similar to what is out on the 360. This would be better because you don’t need to solder anything.

[...] Man, first the Wiinja news, and now this. Tiger Woods ‘07 is the latest PS3 game to be dumped and made readily available on the internet, but the question is, what to do with it and all of the other games that have been dumped. It seems the group that dumped the game have added a “special note” in the .NFO file for Tiger Woods: [...]
