E3 to Get Another Facelift?
Following this year’s somewhat tame E3 conference in Santa Monica, rumors have begun flying that next year’s E3 is in for drastic changes yet again. The big rumor in the pipeline right now? Location change.

That’s right, the media is abuzz right now with rumors that this year’s E3 was the last show to be held in LA County, and that the ESA (the purveyors of the E3 conference) are currently investigating a new locale for the industry’s biggest show (or at least what used to be the biggest show).
While absolutely nothing has been confirmed since the ESA will not comment on seemingly random rumors, some good arguments have been made supporting this theory; not the least of which being the contractual agreement between LA County and the ESA.
It seems that this year’s show was the last one to fall under contract between LA and the ESA, with many people believing that the only reason this year’s E3 was even held in Santa Monica was in order to uphold the contract to its conclusion. Other support comes from a multitude of high level executives claiming that it is indeed time for a change of location if E3 is going to cut it next year.
Currently according to most media sources, Las Vegas and New York are at the top of the list as possible replacement cities, but again, nothing is official at the moment, as the ESA is encouraging this year’s attendees to provide them with feedback on the show in order to better adapt for the future.
