Can Guitar Hero Last?

An analyst on The Street.com recently questioned how long Guitar Hero can keep up it’s momentum. Watch the video and then come back here for our thoughts.
The analyst definitely makes a good point. Think of the way they are handling their brand by churning out sequels and side projects. A company can only stretch and milk a brand so much before people stop caring or caring as much as they once did. Once you get to a game based solely on Aerosmith, then this could be the sign of either continued sucess or problems ahead.
The sucess of Rock Band has also put a damper on Guitar Hero. Sure, you can buy a copy of any of the Guitar Hero releases and play it on a Rock Band guitar, but the problem here is that its hard to get excited about playing a song by yourself when you have the ability to play with your friends in this other game. What Activision needs to do is to keep scoring awesome songs that won’t or will not appear for some time on Rock Band.
