BioShock Golden

Well it is now official. BioShock has entered the final phase of development. The golden disc has been submitted for manufacturing and is currently being mass produced as you read this (well, okay, maybe not if you read this at 3 am, but whatever).
For those who aren’t fully aware of what that means, the game is now officially done and, provided there are no shipping or manufacturing errors, will be on store shelves on Tuesday, August 21st.
BioShock won a good deal of praise, especially with its showing at this year’s E3 Media and Business Summit, garnering numerous “Game of the Show” awards from various publications. This game is quite high on my wanted list, as well as many other gamers’ lists, and is poised to be the first blockbuster of the 2007 holiday season (I don’t count Madden).
BioShock shipping at the end of August is the perfect time for gamers who haven’t already picked up an Xbox 360, to grab one of the newly revised models featuring HDMI and (though still unconfirmed) the 65nm chipset, for smoother operation and a smaller failure rate. Or, for those of us more PC inclined users, to upgrade our PCs, as BioShock’s system requirements will require a pretty decent machine under the hood in order to demonstrate its full potential.
