400K PS3s For Launch? Try 150k-200k!

Sony originally stated that the U.S. would get 400,000 PS3 units. Well, when they said 400,000, they really meant around 150,000 - 200,000. And where’s the proof you ask? Well, it’s in analyst’s Colin Sebastian of Lazard Capital Markets note to investors, that’s where whose source was from retail checks all over the U.S. That’s not all that Colin analyzed. Here are a couple of things that he states in his note:
* Publisher’s will not immediately reap huge rewards from the launch of PS3 and Wii
* Nintendo’s Wii will sell 1.2 million by the end of ‘06
* November will be the strongest month for rental outlets
* Recognizable brands, namely EA’s Madden franchise, will “dominate” software sales at launch.
