3/19/07 - New Releases This Week

Another Monday is here and that means a whole new slate of video games are set to come out and rule our lives once again.
This week, there are a couple of pretty big titles coming out this week. As you can see from the image to the right, we finally get a taste of what Ubisoft can do with the TMNT IP. Videos and developer interviews state that this will be a somewhat different outing for the turtles this time, focusing on the “ninja” aspect rather than having it as a cartoony beat-em-up. The Godfather for the PS3/Wii come out this week as well which take the Xbox 360 version of the game, but it adds some motion control to it. And Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion finally makes it’s way to the PS3 this week, giving PS3 owners a reason to actually buy a PS3 game rather than spending their time with God of War II.

Holy crap, I didn’t know that Tetris game came out today! Thank God 1pstart has this new release list, I always forget. Tetris = instabuy for me, plus its only $30. Look for my name as #1 on the leaderboards by the end of this week (as long as the D-Pad on the 360 doesn’t prove to be as crappy as I think it will be for Tetris, no analog!)
The Godfather: Blackhand Edition on Wii. I am so turning in my little brothers rental of Tony Hawk 8 for 360 and renting that Godfather game. So far reviews are really good for it, especially with the Wii controls.

Just posted this on Xboxrally… but one of the developers of Tetris Evolution said there was an XBLA version of Tetris being worked on, but its not by THQ or what not ( http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2007/03/15/tetris-evolution-dev-drops-tetris-xbla-hint/ )
I am a Tetris addict. I have played video games since I can remember (I had to save my allowance to get my first Nintendo a year after it came out). When the GameBoy came out, my neighbor had it, and I tried the Super Mario Bros game… then I played Tetris. Ever since, I am hooked. I am addicted for real. I haven’t played in a while, and this Xbox game is my fix
(Honestly, if it was a penny over $30 though, I would have to call it out as being really unreasonable.. the fact they priced it as low as they probably could gets them my money)
Let me throw in one more sad face emoticon for how sad it is I am going to buy this game, today.

I’ve had Oblivion for PS3 reserved for almost 2 months, finally the week has come! And yeah, PacoDG… Tetris is so addictive. I try to stay away from it because whenever I do play it all I have dreams about are blocks falling and the best way to arrange them.

Godfather for the Wii is supposed to be really cool. I will probably pick it up

Not sure about the others, but the Virtual Tennis Demo on Live right now is pretty underwhelming.

Oblivion… addictive… 100… hour… gameplay… dying… slowly dying… Agh.

I don’t know if I could spend that much time on a game. Especially Elder Scrolls.

Played all the PS3 releases and here’s the breakdown: Armored Core 4 - Boring, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Wow this game is big… fun!, The Godfather: The Don’s Edition - Horrible. Definitely not worth of next-gen., Virtual Tennis 3 - Addictive, but I wish it had achievements and online play like Xbox.
