2400 MS Points If You Want Entry Into Shivering Isles

Bethesda has announced the pricing and release date for the Shivering Isles expansion pack: 2400 MS Points ($30 USD) and March 27th which is for both PC and 360.
2400 MS Points might be a little high for 360 owners, since they’re not used to spending that much, but I believe the price is right on. $30 for an expansion pack is about the norm for most games. I mean, considering your getting a completely new continent, promising 30 hours of new gameplay, a new main quest and also a ton of secondary quests. $30 bucks sounds just about right.

Inever really got into Elder Scrolls but I heard it was a fantasic game. And on top of that there is another 30+ hours of gameplay but it’s a little too costly for my taste. I’lleventually pick it up but i’ll pass on the 2400 point expansion pack.

$30 sounds right if it was on its own disc and you bought a hard copy of it, not a download.

Elder Scrolls is fantastic.. the downsides to the game is that it crashes the system often. Another downside is that there are quite a few glitches in the game. One way to avoid the crashing is clearing out the Xbox cache routinely. Another problem I have with Oblivion is the eternity you spend on load screens. Supposedly the PS3 version loads a lot faster than the Xbox 360 one does.
I do feel 30 dollars is extremely high for a digital download. You are right about the disc thing PacoDG.. they don’t have the distrubution or packaging overhead, so it should be cheaper. I also feel a little scammed by previous Oblivion downloads. The horse armor was obviously a ripoff and some of the other downloads were simply over-priced. I guess they are going to try and juice this game for all it’s worth, but I think gamers will soon be turned off by this.

$30 is pretty cheap, but could be cheaper because it is for download. Oh well, looks good.

Well.. if you purchase Oblivion for $60, and download all the expansionson XBL Marketplace, all of a sudden it’s a $100+ game. It’s still a badass game, but I do think the cost is excessive especially when they are making tons and tons of profit.

I agree with the 30 dollars if you’re getting a disc mindset. As a download, I don’t think it should break $25. But since it’s points there are probably gamers out there that aren’t completely aware of how much they’re spending. I don’t know, I don’t own my own 360, but I always see points as a way to disguise how much consumers are really spending.

I think its a little overpriced… I think I’ll use my points for XBLA games instead.

Yeah, I’ll take my copies of Alien Hominid and Symphony of the Night to go please.

The people I know that have paid it, seem to think that it’s worth it.
